Corrections & Retractions Policy — SRMD Indian News
*Last updated: April 2026*
SRMD Indian News holds itself accountable for the accuracy of its published content. When we get something wrong, we fix it — promptly, publicly, and without burying the correction. This policy outlines how corrections, clarifications, and retractions are handled across all SRMD Indian News editorial content.
Our Commitment
SRMD Indian News will:
- Correct factual errors as soon as they are verified.
- Note the correction within the article, visible to all readers.
- Never silently alter published content to conceal an error.
- Issue formal retractions when an article is found to be fundamentally flawed.
Types of Editorial Corrections
Correction — A factual error in a published article is corrected in the article text. A correction note is appended stating what was changed and when.
Format: “Correction (April 12, 2026): An earlier version of this article stated that [X]. The correct information is [Y]. We regret the error.”
Clarification — When an article is technically accurate but misleading or missing important context, a clarification is added.
Format: “Clarification (April 12, 2026): This article has been updated to clarify that [additional context].”
Update — When new information becomes available after publication, the article is updated with the new information and an update note is added.
Retraction — When an article is found to contain fundamental errors that cannot be corrected, it is retracted. A retraction notice replaces the original content and explains why the article was retracted.
How to Report an Error
Readers who identify a factual error are encouraged to:
- Email editorial@srdmgroup.com with the subject line “Correction Request”
- Include the article URL, the specific error, and if possible the correct information with a supporting source.
We aim to review all correction requests within 24 hours and publish corrections within 48 hours of verification.
Commodity Price Corrections
Because SRMD Indian News publishes daily fuel and metals prices through an automated system, price data errors are handled as follows: if the source data is later revised, the published article is updated; if an error occurs in our automated data pipeline, the affected articles are corrected and a technical note is added.
